Assamaou, Niger

Assamaou (2017) is from such a small village that only her extended family lives there. She has 11 brothers and sisters and she is the only one to have made it to high school.

Throughout grade school, junior high, and high school she has had long walks, sometimes to 45 minutes to get to school.  Her brother is her biggest supporter.

Assamaou is obviously driven. She has a great sense of humor as well. Assamaou learned how to ride a bike in Chicago and can now go home on weekends in style.
